This course is a combination of a 2-day EFFECTS course and a 1-day RISKCURVES course.

The “EFFECTS training” is aimed at introducing the principles of consequence modelling, the EFFECTS user interface, and giving an overview of all the models available within the software: release, pool evaporation, fire, explosion, dispersion, damage, and combined models. The training provides a general theoretical background that is consolidated with multiple practical exercises that will be elaborated during the training.

The “RISKCURVES training” follows the EFFECTS training and provides information about what a “Quantitative Risk Assessment” (QRA) actually consists of, which risk criteria can be used, and of course how to conduct it using RISKCURVES. The training provides extensive information regarding RISKCURVES’ functionality and how to apply the software in QRA studies.

This virtual event is split into two sections each day:

Morning - Online delivery and presentation from the trainer (approximately 4 hours)

Afternoon – Time for trainee to complete set exercises and practice using the software in preparation for next day. (approximately 4 hours)
